How much does BYOK cost? What is the platform fee?

With BYOK you pay Edesy just ₹1.5/min as a platform and orchestration fee. You bring your own STT, LLM, and TTS keys and pay those AI providers directly at your own rates, and telephony is billed separately (your carrier or a platform provider). That is lower than the standard ₹4–6/min all-in rate because the AI usage runs on your own accounts instead of being bundled into the platform price.

Do customer keys really take precedence over platform keys?

Yes. The runtime checks workspace-level keys before platform defaults at every call. Three subtle bugs in the resolution chain were fixed in April 2026, and runtime now emits 'byok=true byok_path=ai_studio|vertex' to logs so you can verify per-call.

What if my key is invalid or rate-limited?

Calls fail fast with a clear error in the dashboard. There is no silent fallback to platform keys on customer-key failures — that would defeat the data residency and cost predictability guarantees. Set up monitoring on your provider's quota dashboard.

Where are keys stored?

Telephony keys (Twilio, Plivo, Exotel, Edesy-SIP) live in the provider_credentials table. LLM/STT/TTS keys live in workspace settings under llmProviderKeys, sttProviderKeys, ttsProviderKeys. All encrypted at rest.

Can I mix platform credits and BYOK in the same agent?

Yes. An agent can use customer OpenAI + platform Deepgram + customer Twilio + platform-managed phone number. Each slot resolves independently.

Does BYOK work with Gemini Live 3.1?

Yes for AI Studio keys. Vertex AI hosting for Gemini Live 3.1 is not yet generally available — workspaces with Vertex-only credentials fall back to AI Studio for 3.1 agents. Gemini Live 2.5 is fully Vertex-compatible.

What's the difference between BYOK and BYOP?

BYOK = Bring Your Own Key (for AI providers — LLM, STT, TTS). BYOP = Bring Your Own Provider (for telephony — Twilio, Plivo, etc., where you bring not just a key but the carrier relationship). Both are first-class in Edesy.
